On drop property for convex sets

Let (X, ‖ · ‖) be a real Banach space. Let C be a closed convex set in X. By a drop D(x, C) determined by a point x ∈ X, x / ∈ C, we shall mean the convex hull of the set {x} ∪ C. We say that C has the drop property if C 6= X and if for every nonvoid closed set A disjoint with C, there exists a point a ∈ A such that D(a, C) ∩ A = {a}. For a given C a sequence {xn} in X will be called a stream i...

Properties of Typical Bounded Closed Convex Sets in Hilbert Space

Baire category techniques are known to be a powerful tool in the investigation of the convex sets. Their use, which goes back to the fundamental contribution of Klee [17], has permitted to discover several interesting unexpected properties of convex sets (see Gruber [14], Schneider [23], Zamfirescu [25]). A survey of this area of research and additional bibliography can be found in [15, 27]. In...

On reduced pairs of bounded closed convex sets

In this paper certain criteria for reduced pairs of bounded closed convex set are presented. Some examples of reduced and not reduced pairs are enclosed. 2000 Mathematics Subject Classification: 52A07, 26A27.

Characterizations and properties of bounded $L$-fuzzy sets

In 1997, Fang proposed the concept of boundedness of $L$-fuzzy setsin $L$-topological vector spaces. Since then, this concept has beenwidely accepted and adopted in the literature. In this paper, several characterizations of bounded $L$-fuzzy sets in$L$-topological vector spaces are obtained and some properties ofbounded $L$-fuzzy sets are investigated.

Connectedness of Solution Sets for Weak Vector Variational Inequalities on Unbounded Closed Convex Sets

and Applied Analysis 3 (ii) The scalar C-pseudomonotonicity in Definition 2 is weaker than C-pseudomonotonicity in Definition 1(ii). In fact, for any ξ ∈ C∗ \ {0}, x, y ∈ X, if ⟨ξ(u∗), y − x⟩ ≥ 0, then we have ⟨u∗, y − x⟩ ∉ − intC. Then, it follows from the Cpseudomonotonicity of T that ⟨V∗, y − x⟩ ∈ C, which implies that ⟨ξ(V∗), y − x⟩ ≥ 0. Definition 5. The topological space E is said to be c...
